Personal Training Business Tips
We have one of our Mastermind Groups in town today and tomorrow so I’m dialed in on uncovering opportunities for our Mastermind Members to grow their personal training businesses.
With that in mind I wanted to share 21 different ways you can grow your personal training business – all you need to do is pick one or two of them and apply them to your business. So get to picking…
1. Offer strong guarantees. The stronger the better.
2. Have an upsell for everything. A minimum of 20% will take it.
3. Make it easy to buy.
4. Use EFT…95% of people pay things monthly.
5. Find ways to get people on recurring programs.
6. Add down sells to convert more prospects.
7. Sizzle is fine in marketing, but education is better.
8. A transaction is the beginning of a relationship, not the end of one.
9. Find the void in the market – and fill it.
10. Relationship marketing trumps all other types of marketing.
11. Opportunities are endless, but you can’t act on them all at once.
12. Treat prospects like clients and clients like family.
13. Public speaking and the online versions like U-Stream and webinars are under used tools.
14. Scarcity Creates Action
15. Give to get. If you treat people well, you’ll be paid back 10X over.
16. The better the follow up, the better the personal training business.
17. There is *at least* 10K hiding in every business. Most people never look for it. I start by looking for it.
18. Price is elastic…have you checked how far yours can stretch?
19. Combine what you already have / offer to create new things to sell.
20. Don’t step over dollars to pick up pennies.
21. If you don’t believe it can and will happen…it won’t happen.
Did you find something you can use in your personal training business?
I’ll be back with a few more tips after the meeting to give you even more to choose from – but in the mean time tell me which ones you’re going to put into action below.

hi pat thanks for the tips
I really like your tip on Opportunities are endless, but you can’t act on them all at once. I have 500 ideas in my head and now im trying to focus on 1 or 2.
the other is continuing to treat clients like family. I have a small bootcamp currently and until it gets bigger I know i need to take advantage of the close nit group as possible.
thanks pat
As I read the tips I can’t help but think how simple it all really is yet so difficult at the same time.
At least, we make it difficult by not stretching enough and getting outside of our comfort zone (at least this has been true for myself for so long)
I used to focus on all those different ideas at once and as a result never got one done.
Now, I’m laser focused on ONE thing. First things first.
FEAR has many different disguises and I believe overcoming it is the key to the 21 tips you gave.
Great post as usual Pat.
Thanks

Great ideas Pat,
1 thing I have found effective is to make sure to schedule time to work on the business. So you have the 1-2 things that you are focused on and you allocate 1-2 hours per week to work on them.
Looking forward to Bootcamp Bootcamp who is going??
it has been very helpful to gain more ideas reading thru your articles and have helped me to entertain my clients and ihave even promoted to achief personal instructor ion our firm
Great list Pat. Having EFT has changed my entire income, way up:) Also, I like #21 the best.
