Funny to stumble across your site and find this story.

I had a similar experience with Apple that blew me away. I wrote about it here:

http://magalogguy.com/blog/2009/12/03/what-a-free-apple-computer-reinforced-about-great-customer-service/

Like you... an Apple customer for life if they keep up this type of support.

Awesome Scott! Always a good reminder to overdeliver and underpromise. I try to bend over backwards in my daily life for people as that's SHOWING the love of God to them and not just saying it but will make it even a greater focus for my clients and in my business.

Glad to hear you received a blessing from Apple and that you're genuinely thankful for it and aren't acting like you deserve it. Don't forget to thank the one who gave you favor with them and ALWAYS has your best interest at heart - Jesus.

Enjoy Christmas with your family as I can bet you all will enjoy it that much more now ;)

Awesome! There is a good reason that Apple is a company that has Raving Fan Customers. As companies get bigger they become less personal and tend to ignore their customers on an individual basis. It is great that Apple does such a great job.

Also, it makes business sense. It might cost Apple $100 or so to fix the computer, but you are going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on Apple products in the future. So it is a win for everyone.

I had a similar experience with Honda. My stereo died out of warranty, and the dealer said it would be $1,000 to get a new one. I called customer service and sent them a letter (via snail mail!), and two weeks later they called me and said they would give me a new stereo for free! Maybe that would make a good post...

I'm right with you on Apple. I've had great experiences too. In fact, I'm so impressed with the service and products that my friends call me Larry "Wassermac". So glad it worked out for you. Happy Holidays!

Very cool Scott. Under promise and over deliver is a great way to create raving fans and life long clients. This is a great example of that and glad to hear you don't have to make homemade presents this year :)
