Personal Training Business Productivity Tips

Personal training business secrets

Here are some of my random ones for getting the most from your time.

Online

1. Looking at too many things online – group all your reading / research together.

2. Browsing forums, Google, etc with no real purpose – if you can’t tie it to a goal, eliminate it.

3. Take notes on anything valuable so you don’t have to re-read.

Procrastination

4. Learn things quickly.  Pour yourself into them.

5. Set deadlines for everything.

6. Do the tough stuff first.

Take Time Off

7. Whatever you’d like to do when you retire, do it now in smaller doses.

8. You have to recharge from time to time.  Take a notepad when you do and jot ideas if they come – but that’s all.

Daily Activities

9. Plan everything thoroughly.

10. Create action steps to get where you want to go. Saying you want something isn’t enough.

11. Constantly re-evaluate what’s important and if your actions are congruent with your goals.

12. Get others involved when possible. You can’t do it all.

13. Have daily structure – 45 minutes on internal marketing, 45 minutes on external marketing, 45 minutes on program design, etc.

14. Focus on the “big three” – Only 3 things make for success in a personal training business:

better serving current clients, getting new clients and business operations.

Handling Self Doubt

15. Get away for a bit.

16. Get another opinion.  A fresh set of eyes goes far.

17. Remember failure gets you closer to success. I don’t know of any successful fitness pros who haven’t failed. Many times.

18. Revisit past successes.

19. Believe in yourself if not the project.

The 80/20 Rule

20. Put your most important activities at beginning of the day.

21. Spend time with those people who potentially have the biggest impact on your business.

Finding Focus

22. Do what you are passionate about doing – get others to do the rest.

23. Eliminate distractions.  30 minutes of focused time is better than 2 hours of unfocused time.

Being a Perfectionist

24. Pursue excellence, not perfection.

25. Remember – perfect isn’t attainable.

26. No matter what you do – you’re never going to love the first version of anything you do.  Get it out there and then improve it.

The Most Important Personal Training Business Productivity Key Of All

27. Find a system that works for you and repeat it over and over and over again.
