Fitness Marketing For The Wedding Season

Fitness Marketing Tactic To Make the Most Out Of The Wedding Season. A post by Pat Rigsby.

It’s June. And that means fitness marketing for Wedding Season is already in full-swing. And while it still might be possible to get some fitness publicity by piggybacking on this time of year, your best bet is to get your planner out for next year.

Here’s what you do: Make a reminder to contact your local media next April about training programs for weddings. They’ll more than likely do a story on it in May.

Now, if you’re looking for fitness publicity in magazines, well, they’re six months ahead.

Of course once you land a great media hit from your fitness marketing you want to recycle the hell out of it. You want to:

Tell your newsletter readers about it

Post it on your blog

Use it in your speaking bio

Send copies (if it’s print) to your best clients

Talk it up on Facebook and Twitter.

BJ Gaddour got a great media hit and we’re recycling it right here!

Now you are getting into our wheelhouse! When people talk about Wedding and bridal fitness, the name that comes up is Wedding Boot Camp. We created it on all the lessons we learned from you years ago and now it has become a national program and instructor certification.

We have Wedding Boot Camps opening up in California, Florida, New York, Las Vegas and South Carolina and that is just for the end of 2009!

The program is set to make nearly a quarter of a million dollars in less than 12 months with projections of a million in 2010.

Wedding Boot Camp has been featured in the top 3 bridal magazines and the media hits we get are coming so fast and furious, we even get listed without any solicitation now, including as one of Chicago’s best Boot Camps.

I can honestly say that none of this would have been possible without buying Jim, Nick and Pat’s products and studying everything that they teach.

So listen up everybody and go to the people that know what they are doing. Buy everything that these guys offer you because you will make 100 times back.

    Hi Jim,

Have the opportunity to get a good price on a Wedding guide about to go out in my local area but not sure with only a small space the best layout. Assuming an attention grabbing headline is important with a give-away or something for direct response. Any ideas you’ve got??

  3. Steve Krebs says:

Right on Jim! The bridal fitness market is there for the taking! I’m thinking about starting a camp for brides and grooms together next year! If they can make it through boot camp together, marriage will be a breeze! haha

    Hey Matt,

You have to make sure the numbers work. I think your best bet is a lead generation type ad. And once they become a lead you need to be sure to be able to convert those leads so it gives you a solid return on the money you invested in the ad.

Personally, I’m a much bigger fan of opportunities that allow you to get in front of people or joint ventures where you don’t have to lay out cash.

And again, it’s already June. While Wedding Season is far from over, I’m not sure this is the best time to be focusing on this market.

    Steve,

Yeah, if they kill each other during camp they can call the wedding off ;-)

    Hey Jim
Thanks for the tip. I haven’t tried the bridal boot camp before and I should tap into that market with the boot camp.

This is a great idea, Jim. Even though it’s June, I’m already creating my marketing plan for next year. Now that I have added a couple of trainers to my team, I can focus more on creating additional “themed” bootcamps, such as the bridal & groom bootcamps to my service arsenal. Thanks buddy!

    Hey Jim:
Great article! I just had 1 bride who one of my long term campers to just wed in the Carribean. She looked stunning. I plan to get some pics posted on my website and share on Craigslist. I have her before pic and body weight/bodyfat info. She just sent me the pics on last night-I commented that her arms and back were T-I-G-H-T!

Thanks for always making us “think outside the BOX” or rather “wedding cake” (lol)

    Peace and Blessings

    Talk about timing…

It’s Bridal week here in Miami…I got a call Friday to do the Today Show on NBC last Monday, along with some photographers and caterers…Long story short: I put some ads out over the weekend, did the 3 minute spot on NBC Monday…I had and overwhelming amout of traffic to the site and 57 NEW confirmed leads by Monday night, and an invitation to go speak at a Bridal show…so I’m working on a Bridal Bootcamp with a little “TWIST”….stay tuned

It s funny you should mention weddings as I have a couple getting married in three weeks who are loving their training and so I asked if I could get a few photos of the bride in her dress and she will look stunning for my website to help with my marketing and they have agreed.

That is the beauty of providing content and services online. I can get in on the PR here and now and not need to pitch months in advance. Hosting a big fitness product giveaway with TwitterMoms later this week. Thanks for the reminder to target those brides too.
