Personal Training Business Why Choose The APPT?

Personal Training Business Association Information. Post By Nick Berry.

I’m about make my second trip to Idaho in two months.  My former college baseball team, the Campbellsville University, is making the school’s first ever appearance in the NAIA World Series.  We never made it when I played, so I gotta go, right?

Before I leave, I wanted to post a little bit of last minute information about the Fast Track and the big launch of the Association of Professional Personal Trainers.

We’ve been talking about the APPT and why you should consider it for your Personal Training Business for quite a while, and are just over a week away from the public launch.  We will be taking charter members to the APPT at the Fast Track event, and charter members will each be recognized on the APPT’s website (details on the way!).

We’ve got a tremendous lineup for the Fast Track, and I’ll be speaking specifically on the APPT, its mission, the people who will make the APPT work, benefits to members, and how it’s going to affect the lives of so many people in our industry.  That’s not all – but I gotta save something for the event icon smile Personal Training Business Why Choose The APPT?

Rest assured, there’s plenty more APPT information to be revealed at Fast Track, and then beyond.  There’s no way you can set out on the path the APPT is taking, attempting so much and involving so many, and be summed up in a blog post, an hour presentation,  or even a weekend – but we’ve got to start somewhere.

What I, or we, want you to understand right now is the ‘why’ behind the APPT.  If you’re visiting patnickandjim.com, I feel safe saying that you’re a part of the cream of the personal training crop, and of course we had you in mind when creating the APPT.

Beyond that however, you need to understand that the movement is bigger than any one of us, or even any group of us.  The APPT is for our industry, and for those who will choose a career within it, maybe long after we’re out of the picture.

So while we are all able to reap the rewards of being members of an organization that will create a more fruitful industry or opportunity for us immediately, we also share the responsibility of being the collective foundation of that organization.

Yes, we (that includes YOU) started the APPT, and yes, we (YOU) are going to be the foundation.

However it can’t stop there, we’ve got to nurture and grow the APPT to be something that allows those who are like us to benefit from its existence and our diligence.

In a nutshell, you, the truly professional trainers, are the trailblazers, and with that comes a responsibility to be proactively looking to improve and offer others the same benefits.

I am excited to see everyone next weekend.  I’m excited about putting a group of our industry’s leaders on stage and announcing our plans.

Most of all though, I’m excited to know that after next weekend, there is going to be one group of people, the charter members, who will forever be linked together, that will someday be able to look at the APPT and what it’s has done over time to our industry and say……… ‘we did that’.

Have a great week!

I’m excited to hear more about this organization. It’s about time that credible trainers are recognized and supported, and the unqualified ones are weeded out. Consumers deserve the best and when they trust a trainer that is far from qualified it only hurts them in the long run. Keep up the good work guys!

  12. Hey Nick – I know some amazing things will come out of this – great job on putting something together that unites trainers -

Being fragmented is one of the things that holds most trainers back – TRUST ME – who knows where I’d be if I adopted an attitude of abundance and community earlier on -

Glad to see you guys are creating the vehicle – HAHA – let’s see what happens!
